THE CREW

Melissa Breker

For more than ten years, Melissa has focused on creating brand specific experiences that capture the imagination of target audiences. Her specialty is concise, clear and relevant content for both business and audience requirements.

From creating style guides to blogging, Melissa defines a plan for generating and assigning content that connects the right message to the right audience.

Melissa graduated from International Business Relations from Griffith University of Brisbane, Australia. She has a passion for user experience design and web readability. When she’s not writing, Melissa can be found making her ridiculously simple banana bread or in her back yard reading a good book.

Marlane Press

Marlane Press’s articles have appeared in The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Western Living Magazine, the Vancouver Courier and other publications. From 2004 – 2010 she covered B.C. legal matters for the Canadian Bar Association’s National Magazine and was nominated for a Canadian magazine award in 2005. She cut her journalistic teeth as a junior reporter for the Williams Lake Tribune in 1994.

A 1995-graduate of Langara College’s journalism program, Marlane also attended the English Literature program at the University of British Columbia. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and three sons.

Keri Korteling

Keri Korteling is a writer and editor with more than ten years of experience specializing in reporting, content management and strategic positioning. Keri was the senior editor of one of the top financial news websites in Canada, and helped build it into the premier source for information about small-cap natural resources stocks. As an old hand on the web, Keri can read your analytics, improve your SEO, and help you see where users are really engaged. And she knows that what drives it all is great content. Keri is a grammar geek with a passion for great food and awesome thrift store finds.

Stephanie MacDonald

Stephanie is a writer, editor and graphic designer with thirteen years experience in publishing, public relations and advertising. After seven years working in the art departments of Pacific Yachting, and the Vancouver Courier, Stephanie was accepted into the competitive Masters of Publishing program at Simon Fraser University.

Since the MPub, she has brought her passion for creating engaging, snappy copy and on-target, effective PR messages to all her projects. Her career trajectory includes Special Sections Editor at Western Living and Vancouver magazines, Assistant Editor at SharedVISION and most recently the Publications Coordinator at The Arts Club. Stephanie can often be found with her nose in a cookbook or tunelessly screeching at a karaoke machine.

Sam Dance-Thomson

Samantha Dance-Thomson has international experience in editing, proof reading and translation for a variety of companies. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in French and English in Dijon she moved to Vancouver 7 years ago to work in a variety of roles in marketing and client care. Sam loves to write and in her spare time she writes children’s stories.
